Return me to the time
when all the lights of the world
made the darkest moment bright,
when all the stares were not for me,
but for my purpose —
and all was so very right.

The rewards of a just cause is success,
a moment always to be remembered
but perhaps never shared —
just humility and the hope
that as the mind forgets,
such moments will be spared.

And when again
I must perform to satisfy me,
others, or just time and need,
I will slip into my mind
and relive that moment, not in fear,
but capturing the power to succeed.
